This project was made for my Master's that I took at university to expand some more skills.
I broadened my knowledge of academic research and improved my communication greatly.
On the last few months of the Master's course, I proceeded to create a game in Unreal that would attempt to include some way to procedurally create many aspects of the game including the narrative.
For this project, I wanted to learn more about procedural generation and wanted to give it a try at creating some sort of narrative with procedural elements.
In the end, I managed to create a game that resembles RTS style games such as Civilisation, where the story is created depending on how all variables play out, including the player's choices.
The game featured abilities, a moral system depending on what actions you take, a war system against an AI to take over territory, random river floods and resource management for creating different buildings.
Territory expansion was always randomized, but the AI has a proclivity to expand against you if your morality is low.
